In 1891 the popular game of basketball came into existence. Dr. James Naismith is the name behind the invention of this game.   1. A set of five players can be a part of a team on the court. A few, like WNBA, NCAA, and NBA basketball, allow five players only on the court. Teams who do not follow the rule miss their ball possession. It can be a shared experience during low levels when a present team has not left the court, but the new team enters before that.
  2. The rule is to score more to win. Remember to beat your competitor with higher field-goals to enjoy the victorious moment. One means putting the ball in the basket by field goal during the game. The value of a field goal may vary from two to three points. If one shot, the field goal from the arc designating a three-point line is counted as two-point, but if shot from outside the arc, the point counting will be more- three points to be precise!   3. Scoring within the estimated shot clock is mandatory when the ball is under your possession. A maximum of 24 seconds possession is allowed in WNBA, NBA, etc., teams, but NCAA teams are privileged to have 30 seconds. The duration is counted through a both-sided mounted shot clock. After the elapsation of the shot clock, the opposite team has to take the place of the defensive team. The ball passes to the defensive team. 
  4. Dribbling is essential for advancing the ball. Bouncing helps to move the ball in up and down movement on the court. If any player is not dribbling, they pass the ball or try to shoot it. A double dribble is when a player stops dribbling before passing or shooting it. During this step, the ball passes to the opposing team. Dribbling can only help the players to advance it. Do not run by taking the ball as it comes under traveling call, which leads to the ball being passed to the opposing team. 
  5. A duration of five-second is there for the offense for inbounding the ball. After scoring a basket, the opposing team gets the ball. From a fixed spot at the court, the gameplay resumes. During this, the player gets five seconds to move it to another team player; otherwise, the ball passes to another team. The defender’s permission to contact is not there while the offensive player is inbounding it, or the referee can raise a foul call.
